Claims (2)

  1. 基板と;
    該基板の表面上の希土類ドーパントがドーピングされたガラスと;
    を含む光導波路であって、該ガラスが、
    (a)Al23と、REOもしくはY23の少なくとも一方と、ZrO2もしくはHfO2の少なくとも一方とを含み、該ガラスの全重量を基準にして、該ガラスの少なくとも80重量パーセントが、全体として、Al23と、REOもしくはY23の少なくとも一方と、ZrO2もしくはHfO2の少なくとも一方とを含むか;
    (b)該ガラスの全重量を基準にして、少なくとも60重量パーセントのAl23と、Al23以外の第1の金属酸化物とを含み、Al23と第1の金属酸化物とが、全体として、該ガラスの少なくとも80重量パーセントを含みかつガラスは、全体として、該ガラスの全重量を基準にして、20重量%以下のB 2 3 、GeO 2 、SiO 2 、TeO 2 、およびV 2 5 を含有する
    ことを特徴とする、光導波路。
  2. コア材料と該コア材料を取り囲むクラッドとを有するガラスファイバーを含む光導波路であって、該コア材料が、
    希土類ドーパントがドーピングされたガラス、
    を含み、該ガラスが、
    (a)Al23と、REOもしくはY23の少なくとも一方と、ZrO2もしくはHfO2の少なくとも一方とを含み、該ガラスの全重量を基準にして、該ガラスの少なくとも80重量パーセントが、全体として、Al23と、REOもしくはY23の少なくとも一方と、ZrO2もしくはHfO2の少なくとも一方とを含むか;
    (b)該ガラスの全重量を基準にして、少なくとも60重量パーセントのAl23と、Al23以外の第1の金属酸化物とを含み、Al23と第1の金属酸化物とが、全体として、該ガラスの少なくとも80重量パーセントを含みかつガラスは、全体として、該ガラスの全重量を基準にして、20重量%以下のB 2 3 、GeO 2 、SiO 2 、TeO 2 、およびV 2 5 を含有する
    ことを特徴とする、光導波路。
