Abstract
Description
一連のマイクロエレメントを有するマイクロ構造物は、様々な特許刊行物に開示されてきているが、それらの多くが開口部を備え、それにより、マイクロエレメント配列の上面と下面との間における液体の交換が可能となっている。個々のマイクロエレメントは、典型的には、動物の皮膚の角質層を貫通するように、または何らかの他のタイプの膜を貫通するように設計される。一旦貫通が達成されると、流体(例えば液体の薬物など)が、マイクロ構造物内の貯蔵所から体内へと分配され得、またはその逆の方向において、体液が、マイクロ構造物内のそうした貯蔵所へと、試料として採取され得る。
従って、本発明の利点は、貫通する開口部を有する一連のマイクロエレメントを有するマイクロ構造物を形成するための方法論であって、この場合において該マイクロ構造物は、エンボス加工または鋳型成型の方法を使用して、うまく位置が調節される2つのポリマーのシステムによって形成され得る、方法論を提供することである。
次に、本発明の好ましい実施態様について詳しく言及していく。その実施例は付随する図面に示されるが、同じ数字は、全ての図面を通して同じ要素を示している。
Claims (10)
- マイクロ構造物を構成するための方法であって、該方法が、
(a)第1材料より成る基板を提供し、該基板は、第1の実質的に平らな表面と、該第1表面に対向する第2の実質的に平らな表面と、を有し、該基板は、該第1表面と該第2表面との間に形成される複数の開口部を有すること、および、
(b)該材料より成る基板の該第1表面に対して、予め定められた形状を有する物体をプレスすることにより、該第1表面に複数のマイクロエレメント突出部を形成し、該複数のマイクロエレメント突出部は、少なくとも1つの予め定められた形状および大きさを有し、該複数のマイクロエレメント突出部の各々が、該第1表面に沿った周辺部を形成する基部の形状を有すること、によって特徴づけられること、を包含し、
該複数のマイクロエレメント突出部のうち少なくとも1つが、該周辺部内に該複数の開口部のうち少なくとも1つを有する、方法。 - 前記基板における前記複数の開口部の位置が、
(a)該複数の開口部の少なくとも1つが、前記周辺部の少なくとも1つの内におさまるように、前記複数のマイクロエレメント突出部の該周辺部に関してうまく位置が調節されること、および、
(b)該複数の開口部が該周辺部の少なくとも1つの内におさまらなくとも、該複数のマイクロエレメント突出部の少なくとも1つが、該開口部の少なくとも1つを有するように、該複数の開口部の間隔の数および/または密度が十分であるように、半ランダムであること、のうち少なくとも1つであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記複数の開口部の少なくとも1つが、前記プレス操作によって完全に閉じられてはいないことを特徴とする、請求項1および2に記載の方法。
- 前記基板に対してプレスする前記工程が、エンボス加工、鋳型成型、打抜き、絞り、および型押しのうちの1つを包含することを特徴とする、請求項1、2および3に記載の方法。
- (c)前記プレス工程前に、前記複数の開口部の少なくとも1つの内に、第2材料を配置し、該第2材料が、前記第1材料の少なくとも1つの特性と異なる少なくとも1つの特性を有することに特徴付けられること、および、
(d)該プレス工程後に、該複数の開口部の少なくとも1つから、該第2材料を除去すること、の工程を更に包含する、請求項1、2、3および4に記載の方法。 - 前記複数の開口部の少なくとも1つの内に第2材料を配置する前記工程(c)が、
該第2材料が前記複数の開口部内に容易に流れ込むように、高温において、前記第1材料より成る基板を該第2材料の浴槽に通すこと、および
該第1材料より成る基板上に該第2材料を共押出し成型すること、のうちの1つを包含することによって特徴づけられる、請求項5に記載の方法。 - 前記第2材料を除去する前記工程が、
該第2材料の融解点よりも高い温度まであげること、
該第2材料を溶解するが前記第1材料を溶解しない化学物質を適用すること、
該第2材料と反応するが該第1材料とは反応しない化学物質を適用すること、
該第2材料を、前記複数の開口部から機械的に打ち抜くこと、および
該第2材料を、該複数の開口部から機械的に穿孔操作で除くこと、のうち1つを包含することを特徴とする、請求項5および6に記載の方法。 - 前記第2材料を共押出し成型する前記工程により、前記第1材料より成る基板の前記第2表面上に追加的層が形成され、前記複数の開口部の実質的に全てから該第2材料を除去する前期工程により、該第2材料より成る該追加的層も、該第1材料より成る基板の該第2表面から除去されることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載の方法。
- マイクロ構造物を構成するための方法であって、該方法が、
(a)実質的に固体の材料より成る基板を提供し、この際、該基板は、少なくとも1つの予め定められた形状および大きさを有する複数のマイクロエレメント突出部を有する第1表面を有し、該マイクロエレメント突出部の各々は、該第1表面に沿った周辺部を形成する基部の形状を有し、該基板は、該第1表面に対向する、第2の実質的に平らな表面を有し、該基板は、該第1表面と該第2表面の間において実質的に無孔であること、
(b)第3の実質的に平らな表面および該第3表面に対向する第4表面を有するマスクプレートを提供し、この際、該マスクプレートは、該第3表面と該第4表面との間に形成された複数の開口部を有すること、
(c)該マスクプレートの該第3の実質的に平らな表面を、該基板の該第2の実質的に平らな表面に近接するように配置すること、
(d)該マスクプレートの該第4表面から該複数の開口部を通じて加圧下で流体を押出すことにより、加圧下の複数の流体ジェットを形成すること、および
該複数の加圧された流体ジェットにより、該基板に第2の複数の開口部を形成し、この際、該複数のマイクロエレメント突出部のうち少なくとも1つが、該周辺部内に、該第2の複数の開口部のうち少なくとも1つを包含することによって特徴づけられること、を包含する、方法。 - 前記加圧された流体ジェットが、スチーム、加熱されたガス、液体の溶媒、および加熱された液体のうち1つを備えることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の方法。
