Abstract
Description
1997年2月12日出願の米国特許出願第08/799,790号(米国特許第5,899,798号(Kimbrell, Jr. ら)として1999年5月4日に発行)の部分継続出願である1999年4月6日出願の米国特許出願第09/286,797号(米国特許第6,136,730号(Kimbrell, Jr. ら)として2000年10月24日に発行)の継続出願である2000年7月25日出願の米国特許出願第09/625,474号の部分継続出願である2001年5月23日出願の米国特許出願第09/864,461号(発明者:Demottら)に記載されている。
サンプルは、種々の性質について試験した。試験した性質には、流体バリア性(静水耐圧試験及び噴霧試験)、防汚性(撥油性試験)、難燃性(燃焼速度、燃焼時間及び炭化長試験)、結合強さ(結合強さ試験)、耐UV性(UV試験)、熱衝撃性(熱衝撃試験)、及び摩擦色落ち(摩擦色落ち試験における染色堅牢度)が含まれる。
本発明では、流体バリア性は、American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) のWater Resistance: Hydrostatic Pressure Test Method 127-1998 及びWater Repellency: Spray Test Method 22-1996 に従って測定する。
本発明のリリースバリア布は、AATCC Water Resistance: Hydrostatic Pressure Test Method 127-1998 により測定して、約50ミリバール以上、より好ましくは100ミリバールより大きい静水耐圧性を有する。さらに好ましくは、布は、約150ミリバール以上、一層好ましくは200ミリバール以上の静水耐圧性を有する。本発明のリリースバリア布は、AATCC Water Repellency: Spray Test Method 22-1996 により測定して、約70(ISO4)以上の撥水評点を有する。
本発明では、防汚性は、AATCC Oil Repellency: Hydrocarbon Resistance Test Method 118-1997 に従って測定する。本発明のリリースバリア布は、AATCC Oil Repellency: Hydrocarbon Resistance Test Method 118-1997 に従って測定して、約Grade 3 以上、より好ましくは約Grade 4 以上である。本発明のある態様では、耐油性は、約5以上、最大評点8までである。
本発明では、耐UV性は、SAE Recommended Practice SAE J1885 MAR92, Accelerated Exposure of Automotive Interior Trim Components Using A Controlled Irradiance Water Cooled Xenon-Arc Apparatus により測定する。本発明のリリースバリア布の耐UV性は、SAE J1885 MAR92 により評価して、225kJにおいて約4.0以下のΔEを示した。
本発明では、熱衝撃性は、布サンプルを約100℃に加熱し、サンプルを約95°Fの主として水の模擬体に適用し、1秒後に布サンプルと模擬体との間の界面での温度を測定して、評価する。サンプルは、3mm厚ポリウレタン発泡体裏打ちにマウントした約325平方インチの布片である。模擬体は、プラスチック袋に入れた、寒天ゲル安定剤を含む水約25ポンドである。界面での温度は、プラスチック袋の表面に熱電対を配置して測定する。本発明のリリースバリア布は、模擬体への接触後1秒で、約35℃の温度となった。
本発明では、難燃性は、FMVSS-302 により測定する。本発明のバリア布は、本発明のある形態では、望ましくは約4インチ以下の燃焼速度を有するが、これは、自動車内装布に対する現行の政府の難燃性要求を達成するのを可能にするのに十分な難燃性であることを示している。試験結果において「SE」とある場合、布が自己消炎性であることを示す。
本発明では、摩擦色落ち性は、AATCC Colorfastness to Crocking: AATCC Crockmeter Method TM 8-1996 により測定する。本発明のリリースバリア布の摩擦色落ち耐性は、AATCC Colorfastness to Crocking: AATCC Crockmeter Method TM 8-1996 により測定して、約3以上である。
本発明では、帯電防止性は、AATCC Electrical Resistivity of Fabrics Test Method TM 76-1978 により測定する。本発明のリリースバリア布の帯電防止性は、AATCC Electrical Resistivity of Fabrics Test Method TM 76-1978 により測定して、約1012Ω/□以下、好ましくは1010〜約1012Ω/□である。
本発明では、布の曲げ長さ剛性は、引張りの不存在下で2つの同等の反対向きの力が平行線に沿って布片のいずれかの端部に作用して布を曲げた場合の、硬さの指標であり、ASTM D 1388 (1996), Standard Test Method for Stiffness of Fabrics, Option A により測定する。
本発明では、布の曲げ剛性は、布を自重で曲げる方法により示される布質量と布硬さとの間の相互作用であり、ASTM D 1388 (1996), Standard Test Method for Stiffness of Fabrics, Option B により測定する。
本発明では、布の円形曲げ剛性は、多方向曲げに対する布の抵抗の指標であり、ASTM D 4032 (1994), Standard Test Method for Stiffness of Fabric by the Circular Bend Procedure により測定する。
結合強さは、ASTM D 751 (2001) に従って試験する。一般に、自動車座席用途には、0.55より大きい結合強さが要求される。
サンプルFは、通常使用されるダイアフラムに代えて布サンプルを使用して、ASTM D 3786-87 に従って試験した。得られる値が高いことは、布が、空気のような気体に対するバリアとして良好に機能し、従って、膨張性又は他の類似のタイプのバリア最終用途においてうまく機能することを示す。
フッ素化学仕上げ剤の有効量を布上にパジングし、布は、押出塗布により1.5ミルのEMA(エチレン−アクリル酸メチル)被覆により裏打ちした。布は、上記の試験方法により接着性及び難燃性について試験した。これら試験の結果を表1〜3に示す。
サンプルAの場合と同様の方法で、布上にフッ素化学仕上げ剤の有効量をパジングし、布に、1.5ミルのポリプロピレン/ポリブチレンブレンド塗膜により裏打ちした。布は、上記の試験方法により接着性及び難燃性について試験した。これら試験の結果を表1〜3に示す。
サンプルAの場合と同様の方法で、布上にフッ素化学仕上げ剤の有効量をパジングし、布に、サンプルBの場合のポリプロピレン/ポリブチレンブレンドに代えて1.5ミルのエチレン−アクリル酸メチル共重合体塗膜により裏打ちした。サンプルは、上記の試験方法により接着性及び難燃性について試験した。これら試験の結果を表1〜3に示す。
サンプルAの場合と同様の方法で、布上にフッ素化学仕上げ剤の有効量をパジングし、布に、約2オンス/平方ヤードの割合で難燃性アクリルにより裏打ちした。布のアクリル被覆面に、2ミルのポリウレタンフィルムを積層した。布は、結合強さ、流体バリア性(噴霧試験及び静水圧試験)、防汚性及び難燃性について試験した。これら試験の結果を表1〜3に示す。
サンプルAの場合と同様の方法で、布上にフッ素化学仕上げ剤の有効量をパジングし、サンプルDの場合と同様にして、布の被覆面に、2ミルのポリウレタンフィルムを積層した(ただし、この場合はアクリルの中間層無し)。布は、上記の方法により流体バリア性(噴霧試験及び静水圧試験)、防汚性及び難燃性について試験した。しかし、布は巻き込んでしまい、結合強さの試験はできなかった。これら試験の結果を表1〜3に示す。
サンプルAの場合と同様の方法で、布上にフッ素化学仕上げ剤の有効量をパジングし、布に、約2オンス/平方ヤードの割合でアクリルを塗布した。布を乾燥し、次いでメタロセンポリエチレン接着剤を2ミルで押出塗布した。ポリエーテルウレタン(マサチューセッツ州South Deerfield 在 Deerfield Urethane 製PT-5000)の2ミルフィルムを、メタロセンポリエチレン接着剤を用いて積層した。布は、防汚性、流体バリア性及び難燃性について試験した。これら試験の結果を表1〜3に示す。布は、ミューレン破裂試験にも付した。その結果は表4に示す。
(表に記載されているように、2種の布サンプルにつき8個の別個の検体を試験し、結果は平均値として示す。)
サンプルGは、2ミルのポリエーテルウレタンフィルムではなく1ミルのポリエステルポリウレタンフィルム(Deerfield Urethane 製PS-8010)を適用したことを唯一の相違として、サンプルFの場合と同様の方法で作成した。布は、サンプルFの場合と同様の試験に付した。結果を表1〜4に示す。
3×3綾織物を、3/150ポリエステル経糸及び3/150緯糸を用い、約35ピック/インチ及び約50エンド/インチで、製造できる。フッ素化学仕上げ剤の有効量を、布にパジングし、ナイフコーティングによりアクリルラテックス約65g/m2により裏打ちした。約10g/m2の低融点コポリエステル接着剤を用いて、約20g/m2のポリエーテルポリウレタンフィルムを布のアクリルラテックス塗布面に結合する。接着剤は、フィルム外面に熱ローラを適用して活性化する。仕上がった布の重量は、約380g/m2である。仕上がり布を、次いで、曲げ長さ剛性、曲げ剛性及び円形曲げ剛性について、上記の試験方法に従って試験し、表5〜7に示す結果を得た。
Claims (2)
- 第1面及び第2面を有する布基材、
布基材の少なくとも第1面に配置されたフッ素化合物、
布基材の第2面に配置されたアクリルラテックス、
アクリルラテックス上に配置されたコポリマー接着剤、
コポリマー接着剤上に配置されたポリエステルポリウレタンバリアフィルム
を含んでなるバリア布。 - 第1面及び第2面を有する布基材、
布基材の少なくとも第1面に配置されたフッ素化合物、
布基材の第2面上に配置されたポリマー安定化層、
ポリマー安定化層上に配置された接着剤、
接着剤の上に配置されたバリアフィルム
を含んでなるバリア布。
