Abstract
Description
臭素に基づく殺生物剤は、冷却水の微生物抑制及び廃棄物処理システムの消毒のために塩素化−脱塩素化を超える殺生物的利点が証明された。水処理産業はこれらの利点を比較的高いpH値において原価効率の高い管理であり、アンモニアの存在下で殺生物活性における損失がほとんどなく、且つバクテリア、藻類及び軟体動物の有効な抑制であると認めている。

臭素及び塩化臭素の性質を表1において比較する。
本発明は、中でも、同じ成分から形成され、かくしておそらく濃度に関する以外は同じかもしくは非常に類似の化学組成を有する現在商業的に入手可能なもっと希薄な殺生物性水溶液よりさえ高い、驚くほど高い保存安定性を有する非常に濃厚な活性臭素−含有殺生物性水溶液を提供する。さらに本発明は中でも、固体状態で保存及び運送するのに適しており、且つ産業もしくは再生(recreational)水システムに固体の形態で直接添加するための有効な殺生物性添加物として、あるいは産業もしくは再生水システムへの添加のための所望の濃度の高度に活性な殺生物性水溶液もしくは水性スラリの生成のための原料として用いることができる新規な高度に水溶性の固体状態臭素−含有殺生物性組成物を含む。かくして本発明は、高度に有効な活性臭素−含有殺生物性組成物の製造及び輸送に伴う保存空間及び運送コストを減少させることを可能にする。言い換えると、より高度に濃厚な殺生物剤の水溶液又は個体形態における殺生物剤自身を提供することにより、本発明の殺生物性生成物の保存空間、運送体積及び運送コストを有意に減少させることができる。さらに、本発明の固体状態殺生物性生成物の望ましい保存安定性ならびにより希薄な商業的に入手可能な溶液と比較して本発明のより高度に濃厚な溶液の驚くべき保存安定性の向上はなお一層本発明の利点である。本発明のより高度に濃厚な殺生物性組成物が、驚くべきことに、同じ成分から作られるより希薄な商業的に入手可能な組成物と等しいかもしくはそれより低い結晶化温度を有し得ることも見出された。
臭素源、例えば塩化臭素又は臭素をスルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩の水溶液中に導入する場合、追加のアルカリ金属塩基も溶液中に導入することにより(所望通り継続的又は断続的に)、例えばアルカリ金属塩基の水溶液の共−供給により、得られる溶液の所望のpHを7もしくはそれより高く保持するのが望ましい。濃厚水溶液がドラム中で保存されるべき場合、10もしくはそれより高い、そして好ましくは12.5〜13.5の範囲内のそのような溶液のpHを有するのが望ましい。必要なら、pHは14のように高いことができる。

1)ジャケット付きガラス管中に約30mLの試料を量り込む。
2)播種(seeding)材料として0.03gの粉砕されたガラスを試料に加える。
3)ゴム栓/温度計/らせん攪拌機(helical stirrer)アセンブリを試料中に導入する。(プローブの尖端は管の底から大体半インチに置かれなければならない)。
4)試料及びアセトンのレベルが大体等しくなるまで、管を冷却浴中で支える。
5)アセトン浴中の第2の温度プローブを、それが底又は側面に触れないように固定する。
6)試料の攪拌を開始し、ゆっくり且つ注意深くアセトン浴にドライアイスを加え始める。攪拌しながら攪拌機を試料中に保つ。攪拌機を試料から出さないようにする。これは試料中に気泡を形成させるであろう。
7)温度計ディスプレー上で温度が下がり始めるのを見る。管中の試料の温度はかなり安定した速度で下がるであう。予測される凍結点から大体10℃上で、冷却速度を約0.5℃/分に保持しなければならない。
8)冷却及び温度の監視を続ける。すべての試料が結晶化したら、試料を監視する。凍結点温度を短時間(10〜20秒)安定化させねばならない。過冷却が明らかなら、温度上昇の後に温度が安定化する凍結点温度をとる。試料が−46℃で結晶化しない場合、試験を停止する。
9)試料が室温に温まった後、結晶が溶液中に戻るかどうかを見るために調べる。

1)(i)その発端から8より高いpHを有し、且つ(ii)組成物の合計重量に基づいて16重量%より多いBr2として測定されるブロモニウムイオンが溶液中に存在するスルファメート−安定化ブロモニウムイオンを含有する濃厚水性殺生物性組成物。
2)その発端から組成物が10より高いpHを有する1)におけるような濃厚殺生物性組成物。
3)(i)組成物の合計重量に基づいて16重量%より多いBr2として測定されるブロモニウムイオンを溶液中に有し、且つ(ii)10より高いpHを有する、BrClと−SO3NH2の反応により得られる安定化酸化性ハロゲンを含有する濃厚水性殺生物性組成物。
4)組成物の合計重量に基づいて少なくとも16重量%のBr2として測定されるブロモニウムイオンを溶液中に有する、BrClと−SO3NH2の反応により得られる安定化酸化性ハロゲンを含有する濃厚水性殺生物性組成物。
[実施例11〜17]
[実施例13]
1リットルのフラスコに52.0gのスルファミン酸及び250gの水を入れた。攪拌されているスラリに60.0gの50%水酸化ナトリウムを加えることにより、スルファミン酸ナトリウムを調製した。47.0gの臭素に20gの塩素を加えることにより、塩化臭素を調製した。次いでこの塩化臭素を、6〜8のpHを保持するために210gの25%水酸化ナトリウムと共−供給した。5mLの1M塩酸を加え、最終的pHを約7±0.5とした。いくらかの固体を含有する溶液を、保存のために琥珀色のビン(amber bottle)に移した。溶液の試料のデンプン−ヨウ素滴定は、それが11.2%の活性臭素濃度を有することを示した。
[実施例14]
500mLのフラスコに26.0gのスルファミン酸及び50gの水を入れた。このスラリに35.0gの50%水酸化ナトリウムを加えた。酸がナトリウム塩に転換されるとともに、それはより容易に水溶液中に溶解された。臭素(37.0g)及び50%水酸化ナトリウム(30.0g)を、11〜13のpHを保持する速度で溶液中に共−供給した。すべての臭素及び苛性アルカリが加えられた後、保存のために内容物を琥珀色のビンに移した。溶液の試料のデンプン−ヨウ素滴定は、それが19.6%の活性臭素濃度を有することを示した。臭素溶液の分析は、まだその活性臭素含有率の95%より多くを含有した。
[実施例15]
500mLのフラスコに26.0gのスルファミン酸及び50gの水を入れた。この攪拌されたスラリに30.9gの50%水酸化ナトリウムを加え、それは初期pHを約12に上昇させた。次いでスルファミン酸は溶液中に溶解した。pHが約7に低下するまで臭素(37.7g)を溶液中に供給し、その時点に50%水酸化ナトリウム(10.9g)を共−供給してpHを6〜9に保持した。5mLの0.01N水酸化ナトリウムを用い、最終的pHを約7±0.5とした。次いで内容物を保存のために琥珀色のビンに移した。この溶液の試料のデンプン−ヨウ素滴定は、それが26.7%の活性臭素含有率を有することを示した。周囲温度における6週間の保存の後の溶液の分析は、安定化された臭素溶液がまだその活性臭素含有率の95%より多くを含有することを示した。
[実施例16]
1リットルのフラスコに107gのスルファミン酸及び200gの水を入れた。攪拌されているスラリに93.9gの50%水酸化ナトリウムを加えることにより、スルファミン酸ナトリウムを調製した。96.0gの臭素に39gの塩素を加えることにより、塩化臭素を調製した。次いでこの塩化臭素を、pHを11〜13に保持するために319gの50%水酸化ナトリウムと共−供給した。さらに30分間攪拌した後、いくらかの固体を含有する溶液を保存のために琥珀色のビンに移した。溶液の試料のデンプン−ヨウ素滴定は、それが18.0%の活性臭素濃度を有することを示した。周囲温度における3週間後の溶液の分析は、安定化された臭素溶液がまだその活性臭素含有率の90%より多くを含有することを示した。
[実施例17]
5リットルのフラスコに470gのスルファミン酸及び900gの水を入れた。攪拌されているスラリに436gの50%水酸化ナトリウムを加えることにより、スルファミン酸ナトリウムを調製した。276gの臭素に120gの塩素を加えることにより、塩化臭素を調製した。次いでこの塩化臭素を、pHを12〜13に保持するために1723gの50%水酸化ナトリウムと共−供給した。さらに60分間攪拌した後、オレンジ色の透明な溶液を保存のためにポリエチレンビンに移した。溶液の試料のデンプン−ヨウ素滴定は、それが17.6%の活性臭素濃度を有することを示した。
[実施例18]
5リットルのフラスコに390gのスルファミン酸及び400gの水を入れた。攪拌されているスラリに、温度を30℃未満に保つために冷却しながら1820gの25%水酸化ナトリウムを加えることにより、スルファミン酸ナトリウムを調製した。次いで344gの塩化臭素を加えた。オレンジ色の透明な溶液は13.5のpHを有し、それを濾過して保存のためにポリエチレンビンに移した。溶液の試料のデンプン−ヨウ素滴定は、それが16.2%の活性臭素濃度を有することを示した。
[実施例19]
9gの水中で24.3gのスルファミン酸をスラリ化することにより、スルファミン酸ナトリウムを調製した。24.0gの50%水酸化ナトリウムを滴下した。フラスコを著しく(noticeably)加熱し、固体を溶解した。この溶液を184.6gのナトリウムジクロロヒポブロマイト中に滴下した。ナトリウムジクロロヒポブロマイト、Na[BrCl2]は、30.6gの塩化臭素を154gの3M塩化ナトリウム水溶液に加えることにより調製された。さらに24gの50%水酸化ナトリウムを加え、pHを7に上昇させた。この溶液の分析は、それが12.0%の活性臭素濃度を有することを示した。
Claims (39)
- 水を含んでなり、その中の溶液において(i)塩素の共同使用を含むかもしくは含まない塩化臭素又は塩化臭素と臭素に由来する160,000ppm(wt/wt)より高い活性臭素含有率、ならびに(ii)スルファミン酸の塩基過剰(overbased)アルカリ金属塩を有する水性殺生物剤組成物であって、ここで(i)及び(ii)の相対的割合が、(i)及び(ii)からの窒素対活性臭素の原子比が0.93より大きくなるようなものであり、且つここで組成物のpHが少なくとも7である水性殺生物剤組成物。
- 該溶液中における活性臭素の含有率が160,000ppmより高くから215,000ppmまでの範囲内である請求項1の組成物。
- 該スルファミン酸の塩基過剰アルカリ金属塩が本質的に塩基過剰スルファミン酸ナトリウムから成り、且つ該溶液が塩化ナトリウム又は臭化ナトリウムあるいは両方を含有する請求項1の組成物。
- 該原子比が1より大きく、且つ該pHが10〜13.5の範囲内である請求項1の組成物。
- 該原子比が1より大きく、且つ該pHが12.5〜13.5の範囲内である請求項1の組成物。
- 該原子比が1より大きく、且つ該pHが12〜14の範囲内である請求項1の組成物。
- 該溶液中における活性臭素の含有率が160,000ppmより高くから215,000ppmまでの範囲内であり、該スルファミン酸の塩基過剰アルカリ金属塩が本質的に塩基過剰スルファミン酸ナトリウムから成り、該溶液が塩化ナトリウム又は臭化ナトリウムあるいは両方を含有し、該原子比が1より大きく、且つ該pHが10〜13.5の範囲内である請求項1の組成物。
- 該pHが12.5〜13.5の範囲内である請求項7の組成物。
- 該溶液中における活性臭素の含有率が170,000ppm(wt/wt)〜215,000ppmの範囲内である請求項1、4、5又は7のいずれかの組成物。
- 該溶液中における活性臭素の含有率が176,000ppm(wt/wt)〜215,000ppm(wt/wt)の範囲内である請求項1、4、5又は7のいずれかの組成物。
- 該溶液中における活性臭素の含有率が176,000ppm〜190,000ppm(wt/wt)の範囲内である請求項1、4、5又は7のいずれかの組成物。
- 該溶液中における活性臭素の含有率が201,000ppm〜215,000ppmの範囲内である請求項1、4、5又は7のいずれかの組成物。
- 組成物の活性臭素含有率が塩化臭素又は塩化臭素と臭素に由来する請求項1、4、5又は7のいずれかの組成物。
- (i)塩素の共同使用を含むかもしくは含まない塩化臭素又は塩化臭素と臭素を(ii)スルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩の塩基過剰水溶液と、得られる生成物溶液が(a)160,000ppm(wt/wt)より多くの活性臭素を含有し、(b)0.93より大きい(i)及び(ii)からの窒素対活性臭素の原子比を有し、且つ(c)少なくとも7のpHを有するような割合で混合することを含んでなる殺生物性組成物の調製法。
- 水中で(1)スルファミン酸及び/又はスルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩ならびに(2)アルカリ金属塩基を一緒に混合することにより、該スルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩の塩基過剰アルカリ金属溶液を予備調製する請求項14の方法。
- 該得られる生成物溶液が160,000ppmより多くから215,000ppmまでの範囲内の量の活性臭素を含有する請求項14の方法。
- 該スルファミン酸の塩基過剰アルカリ金属塩が本質的に塩基過剰スルファミン酸ナトリウムから成る請求項14の方法。
- 該原子比が1より大きく、且つ該pHが10〜13.5の範囲内である請求項14の方法。
- 該原子比が1より大きく、且つ該pHが12.5〜13.5の範囲内である請求項14の方法。
- 該原子比が1より大きく、且つ該pHが12〜14の範囲内である請求項14の方法。
- (a)臭素、塩化臭素又は塩化臭素と臭素の混合物から生成する活性臭素の水溶液を(b)スルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩及び/又はスルファミン酸、アルカリ金属塩基及び水あるいは(1)スルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩及び/又はスルファミン酸、(2)アルカリ金属塩基及び(3)水から形成せしめられるスルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩の水溶液と共に含んでなり、該活性臭素の水溶液は少なくとも7のpHを有し、且つここで(a)及び(b)の量は、(i)活性臭素の水溶液中の活性臭素の含有率が160,000ppm(wt/wt)より高く、(ii)(a)及び(b)からの窒素対活性臭素の原子比が、塩化臭素なしで臭素が用いられる場合に1より大きく、臭素と共にもしくは臭素なしで塩化臭素が用いられる場合には0.93より大きくなるような量である濃厚液体殺生物剤組成物。
- 濃厚液体殺生物性溶液中の活性臭素の含有率が165,000ppm(wt/wt)〜215,000ppm(wt/wt)の範囲内であり、且つ該pHが10〜13.5の範囲内である請求項21の組成物。
- 該pHが12.5〜13.5の範囲内である請求項22の組成物。
- 該pHが12〜14の範囲内である請求項22の組成物。
- スルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩及びアルカリ金属塩基のアルカリ金属がナトリウム又はカリウムである請求項21〜24のいずれかの組成物。
- (A)(i)臭素、(ii)塩化臭素、(iii)塩化臭素と臭素の混合物、(iv)少なくとも1のBr2対Cl2のモル比における臭素及び塩素又は(v)合計Br2対Cl2のモル比が少なくとも1であるような割合における塩化臭素、臭素及び塩素;ならびに(B)(i)スルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩及び/又はスルファミン酸及び(ii)アルカリ金属塩基から水中で形成せしめられる生成物の水溶液又は水性スラリからの水の除去により調製され、ここで該水溶液又は水性スラリは少なくとも7のpHならびに0.93より大きい(A)及び(B)からの窒素対活性臭素の原子比を有する固体状態臭素−含有殺生物性組成物。
- 該pHが10〜13.5の範囲内であり、且つ該原子比が1より大きい請求項26の組成物。
- 該pHが12.5〜13.5の範囲内である請求項26の組成物。
- 該pHが12〜14の範囲内である請求項26の組成物。
- スルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩又はアルカリ金属塩基のアルカリ金属がナトリウム又はカリウムである請求項26〜29のいずれかの組成物。
- 該組成物が噴霧乾燥組成物である請求項26〜29のいずれかの組成物。
- 該組成物が噴霧乾燥組成物であり、且つスルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩又はアルカリ金属塩基のアルカリ金属がナトリウム又はカリウムである請求項26〜29のいずれかの組成物。
- スルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩又はアルカリ金属塩基のアルカリ金属がナトリウムである請求項26〜29のいずれかの組成物。
- 該組成物が噴霧乾燥組成物であり、且つスルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩又はアルカリ金属塩基のアルカリ金属がナトリウムである請求項26〜29のいずれかの組成物。
- (A)(i)臭素、(ii)塩化臭素、(iii)塩化臭素と臭素の混合物、(iv)Br2対Cl2のモル比が少なくとも1における臭素及び塩素又は(v)合計Br2対Cl2のモル比が少なくとも1であるような割合における塩化臭素、臭素及び塩素;ならびに(B)(i)スルファミン酸のアルカリ金属塩及び/又はスルファミン酸及び(ii)アルカリ金属塩基から水中で形成せしめられる生成物の水溶液又は水性スラリから水を除去することを含んでなり、ここで該水溶液又は水性スラリは少なくとも7のpHならびに0.93より大きい(A)及び(B)からの窒素対活性臭素の原子比を有する固体状態臭素−含有殺生物性組成物の調製法。
- 該水溶液又は水性スラリからの減圧下における水のフラッシング(flashing off)又は留去により該水溶液又は水性スラリから水を除去する請求項35の方法。
- 水中で(A)及び(B)から形成せしめられる生成物の水性スラリから水を除去し、そして該水性スラリからの減圧下における水のフラッシング又は留去により該水性スラリから水を除去する請求項35の方法。
- 該水溶液又は水性スラリの噴霧乾燥により該水溶液又は水性スラリから水を除去する請求項35の方法。
- 水中で(A)及び(B)から形成せしめられる生成物の水溶液から水を除去し、そして該水溶液の噴霧乾燥により該水溶液から水を除去する請求項35の方法。
