Abstract
【解決手段】排気浄化装置は、内燃機関の複数気筒群の各々に接続した排気通路上に設け、排気ガスを浄化する複数の排気浄化手段と、排気浄化手段が再生すべき状態にあるか否かを判定する再生判定手段と、再生判定手段が排気浄化手段が再生すべき状態と判定した時、排気浄化手段を再生する再生制御を行う再生制御手段と、を備え、再生制御手段は、再生制御の実行前後で内燃機関の燃焼モード変更がある時は複数の排気浄化手段に対し同時に再生制御を行い、再生制御の実行前後で燃焼モード変更がない時は複数の排気浄化手段の各々に対し独立に再生制御を行う。これにより、排気浄化手段の再生を適切に行うことができ、再生制御を行っても内燃機関の燃費やドライバビリティーの悪化を防止が可能。

Description
図1は本発明の実施形態に係る排気浄化装置が組み込まれた内燃機関を示している。なお、図1において、実線で示す矢印は吸排気の流れを示しており、破線で示す矢印は信号の入出力を示している。
次に、上記した第1排気浄化部18L、18Rに対して行う、本実施形態に係る再生制御の基本概念について説明する。なお、この制御は、再生制御手段として機能するECU12によって行われる。また、本実施形態では再生制御として、NOx触媒16L、16Rに対するNOx還元、DPNR17L、17Rに対するPM再生、及びNOx触媒16L、16Rに対する硫黄(S)被毒回復を実行する。
ここでは、NOx触媒16L、16Rに対して行うNOx還元に係る再生制御について説明する。
次に、DPNR17L、17Rに対して行うPM再生に係る再生制御について説明する。
次に、NOx触媒16L、16Rに対して行うS被毒回復に係る再生制御について説明する。
次に、PM再生に係る再生制御の実施例について説明する。
まず、第1実施例に係る再生制御について説明する。第1実施例に係る再生制御は、燃焼モードの変更を伴う場合に実行される。そのため、この制御は、バンク2L、2Rに対して同時に実行される。更に、第1実施例に係る再生制御は、PM再生がバンク2L、2Rで同時に終了するように実行される。即ち、この再生制御は、制御の開始と終了がバンク2L、2Rで一致するように実行される。
次に、第2実施例に係る再生制御について説明する。第2実施例に係る再生制御も、燃焼モードの変更を伴う場合に実行されるため、バンク2L、2Rに対して同時に実行される。更に、第2実施例に係る再生制御は、第1実施例に係る再生制御と同様に、PM再生がバンク2L、2Rで同時に終了するように実行される。
次に、第3実施例に係る再生制御について説明する。
以下では、前述した再生制御に用いた、DPNR17L、17Rの推定PM堆積量の推定方法について説明する。なお、推定PM堆積量の推定は、推定手段として機能するECU12によって実行される。

Claims (6)
- 内燃機関における複数の気筒群の各々に接続された排気通路上に設けられ、前記排気通路を流れる排気ガスを浄化する複数の排気浄化手段と、
前記排気浄化手段が再生すべき状態にあるか否かを判定する再生判定手段と、
前記再生判定手段が前記排気浄化手段が再生すべき状態にあると判定した場合に、当該排気浄化手段を再生するための再生制御を行う再生制御手段と、を備え、
前記再生制御手段は、前記再生制御の実行前後で前記内燃機関の燃焼モードの変更を伴う場合には前記複数の排気浄化手段に対して同時に当該再生制御を行い、前記再生制御の実行前後で前記燃焼モードの変更を伴わない場合には前記複数の排気浄化手段の各々に対して独立に当該再生制御を行うことを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記燃焼モードの変更を伴う場合とは、前記気筒群に導入される吸気量、吸気系に還流させるEGR量、出力発生を伴う燃料の噴射量、及び燃料の噴射タイミングのうち少なくとも一つが変化する場合をいうことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記再生制御手段は、前記排気浄化手段が吸蔵したNOxの還元、前記排気浄化手段に堆積したPMの再生、及び、前記排気浄化手段における硫黄被毒の回復のうち少なくともいずれかを行うことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記再生制御手段は、前記複数の排気浄化手段の各々に対してPMの再生が終了したか否かを判定し、当該PMの再生が全ての前記排気浄化手段において終了したと判定された際に、前記硫黄被毒の回復を行うことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記複数の排気浄化手段の各々が堆積しているPMの量を推定する推定手段を更に備え、
前記再生制御手段は、推定されたPMの量に基づいて、前記複数の排気浄化手段に対して前記再生制御を行う時間が同一となるように制御量を決定することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記制御量は、前記複数の排気浄化手段の各々に対して還元剤を添加する量、及び前記複数の排気浄化手段の各々に対して供給する前記排気ガスの量のうち少なくともいずれかであることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
