Description
発明の詳細な説明
本発明は、周囲温度および周囲圧力で固体および/または液体である1種または複数の機能材料を、1種または複数の界面活性剤/分散剤物質とともに、密度が0.1g/cc以上の圧縮された、気体、液体および/または超臨界流体相にある二酸化炭素を含んでなるキャリア流体中で非反応性処理することにより、ナノスケール粒子材料の調製を可能にする。1種または複数の機能材料は、1種または複数の好適な分散剤/界面活性剤とともに形成されるミセル集合体の形態でキャリア流体(1種または複数の超臨界流体/圧縮液体および/または補助溶媒の混合物でもよい)に分散され、前駆体配合物を形成する。この前駆体配合物を制御しながら減圧するとキャリア流体が蒸発し、所望の大きさの領域のナノスケール粒子材料が形成される。本発明により製造されるナノスケール粒子には、例えば、写真および印刷用途、特にインクジェット印刷用途を含む画像用途、カラーフィルターアレイおよび有機発光ダイオードディスプレー装置を含む電子ディスプレー装置用途、塗布用途、ポリマーフィラー用途、データ記録、耐摩耗性および/または潤滑/摩擦コーティング、ミクロ構造/ナノ構造建築物、帯電防止性コーティング、オプティカルコーティング、リソグラフィマスクおよび熱伝導に有用な機能材料がある。
以下は、これらの実施例に使用する高圧システムの説明である。システム流れ図を以下の図1に示す。システムの機能を以下のとおり説明する。二酸化炭素の供給源がシステムに付属している(流体供給源11)。CO2が、供給源から熱交換器(12)を通って高圧ピストンポンプ(13)およびシリンジポンプ(14)へと配管されている。熱交換器12は、CO2の温度を下げて液化する。冷浴(図示せず)は、熱交換器ならびにジャケット付きポンプ13および14の中に、システム内の温度を一定にするために必要な冷却剤を絶え間なく流している。ポンプ13および14は、容量可変容器(15)に接続しており、前記容器は、攪拌機(16)、ピストン(17)および窓用の穴(18、19)、センサー用の穴(20、21)ならびにカートリッジヒーター(22、23)を利用する電気加熱を備えた高圧ステンレススチール容器である。
0.01gのDuasyn Acid Blue AE−02TM(Clariant Corp.)パウダーおよび0.649gのFomblin MF−300TM(Ausimont Montedison Group、式CF3O(CF2CF(CF3)O)3CF2CO2 -NH4 +)の界面活性剤)および6.82gのCO2を、23℃の高圧セルに入れ、圧力を3000psigに調整した。
得られた試料の核磁気共鳴試験を実施した。
Fomblin MF−300TMの代わりにFluorolink 7004TM(Ausimont Montedison Group、式Cl(CF2CF(CF3)O)nCF2COO-NH4 +)の界面活性剤)を使用し、Duasyn Acid Blue AE−02に対する界面活性剤のモル比を30:1にした以外、例1と同様に実施した。
0.0126gの銅フタロシアニン(CuPc)パウダー、0.4763gのFluorolink 7004TMおよび7.06gのCO2を、25.3℃および150気圧の高圧セルに入れて混合した。
0.0058gの化合物C−545Tパウダー、0.555gのFluorolink 7004TMおよび5.0gのCO2を、25.3℃および150気圧の高圧セルに入れて混合した。
C−545Tに対する界面活性剤の比を、76:1(例5)または0:1(比較例5C)のいずれかにして例4と同様に実施した。透過型電子顕微鏡写真である図6は例5で得られたナノ材料を示しており、透過型電子顕微鏡写真である図7は比較例5Cで得られたナノ材料を示している。界面活性剤の存在下での平均粒径は約2nmであるが、界面活性剤の非存在下での平均粒径は約15nmである。
Claims (19)
- (i)ナノスケール粒子として沈殿すべき1種または複数の機能材料と1種または複数の界面活性物質とを、密度が少なくとも0.1g/ccである圧縮CO2相中で混合する工程であって、前記機能材料は前記界面活性剤の非存在下では前記圧縮CO2に実質的に不溶であり、前記界面活性剤が親圧縮CO2性部分および親機能材料性部分を含んでなり、圧縮CO2相、機能材料および界面活性剤が相互作用して、圧縮CO2連続相ならびにそこに分散している平均直径が10nm未満の、界面活性剤分子および機能材料分子を含んでなる複数の集合体を有する集合系を形成する工程;および
(ii)前記圧縮CO2相を急激に減圧して、分散された機能材料および界面活性物質を、平均直径が0.5から10nm未満である複合粒子の形態で沈殿させる工程
を含んでなるナノスケール粒子材料の調製方法。 - 前記機能材料に対する前記界面活性剤のモル比が少なくとも1:1である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記機能材料に対する前記界面活性剤のモル比が少なくとも10:1である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記機能材料に対する前記界面活性剤のモル比が少なくとも30:1である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記機能材料に対する前記界面活性剤のモル比が少なくとも100:1である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記圧縮二酸化炭素が圧縮液体である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記圧縮二酸化炭素が超臨界流体である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記圧縮二酸化炭素が亜臨界圧縮気体である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 機能材料および界面活性物質を、平均直径が0.5から5nmである複合粒子の形態で沈殿させる請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記機能材料が、有機物、無機物、金属−有機物、ポリマー、オリゴマー、金属、合金、セラミック、合成ポリマーおよび/または天然ポリマーならびにそれらの複合物または混合物からなる群から選択される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記界面活性剤の親機能材料性部分が、疎CO2性部分を含んでなる請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記界面活性剤が、親CO2性部分と疎CO2性部分とを有する、フッ素化、パーフルオロポリエーテルまたはシロキサン界面活性剤である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記機能材料に対する圧縮二酸化炭素の比が、約100,000:1から約1:1である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記機能材料に対する圧縮二酸化炭素の比が、約5,000:1から約50:1である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記の沈殿したナノスケール材料が流体様の性質を有し、0.1センチポワズから1010センチポワズの範囲である粘度を有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記機能材料に対する前記界面活性剤のモル比が、少なくとも10:1である請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記機能材料に対する前記界面活性剤のモル比が、少なくとも30:1である請求項16に記載の方法。
- 請求項15に記載の方法で得られるナノ流体。
- 前記機能材料および界面活性物質が、平均直径が0.5から5nmの複合粒子の形態で沈殿した請求項18に記載のナノ流体。
