Abstract
【解決手段】酸化能を有する触媒上流の排気通路に設けられた過給機と、過給機のタービンの回転駆動に用いられる排気のエネルギ量を調整するタービン駆動エネルギ量調整手段(S106)と、アフター噴射を実行するアフター噴射実行手段と、を備えた内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、タービン駆動エネルギ量調整手段は、アフター噴射の実行により過給機のコンプレッサの仕事量が増加した場合には、増加した仕事量を零にすべくタービンの回転駆動に用いられる排気のエネルギ量を減少させる。

Description
気量検出手段若しくは吸気圧検出手段の検出値がアフター噴射の実行前よりも大きい場合に、タービンの回転駆動に用いられる排気の量を減少させることで、アフター噴射により増加した排気エネルギを効率よく触媒の温度上昇に用いることができる。
、排気温度センサ19、差圧センサ20に加え、内燃機関1に取り付けられたクランクポジションセンサ(図示省略)及び水温センサ(図示省略)や、内燃機関1を搭載した車両の室内に取り付けられたアクセルポジションセンサ(図示省略)等の各種センサが電気配線を介して接続され、上記した各種センサの出力信号がECU26に入力されるようになっている。
フィルタ17に、PMが堆積していくと、フィルタ内の排気流路が狭くなり、排気抵抗が増加してしまう。そして、フィルタ17にPMが過度に堆積すると、排圧が上昇し、内燃機関の出力低下を生じさせてしまう。そのため、適宜のタイミングでフィルタに堆積したPMを酸化・除去してフィルタを再生するPM再生処理を実行することが必要である。そのため、ECU26は、PM再生処理開始条件が成立したときに、以下に述べるような手法でPM再生処理を実行する。
れたNOx触媒に流入し、該触媒との反応熱により該触媒の温度が上昇し、以てフィルタの温度が上昇する。
一方、フィルタ17に担持されたNOx触媒は、該触媒に流入する排気の空燃比がリーン空燃比であるときには、排気中のNOxを保持して大気中に放出しないようにし、該触媒に流入する排気の空燃比が理論空燃比あるいはリッチ空燃比となったときには、保持していたNOxを放出及び還元して除去するものである。
NOx触媒の床温を500〜700℃に高める触媒昇温処理を行うとともにNOx触媒に流入する排気の空燃比をリッチ空燃比とするリッチ空燃比処理を行うものである。
そこで、本実施例におけるPM再生処理あるいはS再生処理を実行するにあたっては、アフター噴射を実行しても、フィルタ17に流入する排気の温度が所望の温度に達しない場合は、所望の温度となるように、VN開度あるいはW/Gバルブ開度を調整する。
において、上述した再生処理開始条件が成立しているか否かを判定する。つまり、PM再生処理の際には上述したPM再生処理開始条件が、S再生処理の際には上述したS再生処理開始条件が成立しているか否かを判定する。そして、本ステップで肯定判定された場合はS102へ進み、否定判定された場合は本ルーチンの実行を終了する。
て、肯定判定された場合は、アフター噴射により高められた排気エネルギが、NOx触媒の温度を活性温度まで高めるのに効率よく用いられていると考えられることから、S108へ進み、再生処理を継続する。一方、否定判定された場合には、依然としてアフター噴射により高められた排気エネルギの一部がタービンを回転させるエネルギに用いられ、NOx触媒に流入する排気の温度が前記所定温度まで達せずNOx触媒の温度が活性温度まで高められないと考えられることから、再度S106以降の処理を再度実行する。

Claims (4)
- 内燃機関の排気通路に設けられた酸化能を有する触媒と、
当該触媒上流の排気通路に設けられ排気で回転駆動されるタービンと、当該タービンが回転することにより回転し吸気過給を行うコンプレッサを有する過給機と、
前記タービンの回転駆動に用いられる排気のエネルギ量を調整するタービン駆動エネルギ量調整手段と、
前記内燃機関から排出され前記触媒に流入する排気の温度を上昇させるべく、主燃料噴射後に燃料を噴射するアフター噴射を実行するアフター噴射実行手段と、
を備えた内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、
前記タービン駆動エネルギ量調整手段は、前記アフター噴射実行手段によるアフター噴射の実行により前記コンプレッサの仕事量が増加した場合には、当該増加した仕事量を零にすべく前記タービンの回転駆動に用いられる排気のエネルギ量を減少させることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記タービン駆動エネルギ量調整手段は、前記過給機に設けられた可変ノズルおよび/またはウェストゲートバルブの開度を大きくすることにより前記タービンの回転駆動に用いられる排気のエネルギ量を減少させることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記アフター噴射実行手段は、前記触媒の活性温度に基づいてアフター噴射量を決定するものであり、
前記タービン駆動エネルギ量調整手段は、前記アフター噴射量が多くなる程、前記過給機に設けられた可変ノズルおよび/またはウェストゲートバルブの開度をより大きくすることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記内燃機関の吸気通路に、当該吸気通路を流通する吸気の量を検出する吸気量検出手段若しくは当該吸気の圧力を検出する吸気圧検出手段の少なくともいずれかを更に備え、
前記タービン駆動エネルギ量調整手段は、前記吸気量検出手段若しくは前記吸気圧検出手段の検出値が前記アフター噴射の実行前よりも大きい場合に、前記タービンの回転駆動に用いられる排気のエネルギ量を減少させることを特徴とする請求項1、2または3に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
