Description
予圧と軸受寿命の関係は、適当な大きさの予圧(アキシャルすき間が負の領域)が有る場合は、寿命比(L/L0 )(Lは、すき間・予圧を考慮した寿命、L0 はすき間0の場合の寿命)が1以上となるが、アキシャルすき間がゼロから正の領域に入ると予圧抜けが発生し、寿命比は次第に低下する。
従来の自動車トランスミッション用円錐ころ軸受は、内外輪の相対傾き角(ミスアライメント)などの取付け誤差等を考慮し、最大荷重条件下でも取付け誤差等によって発生するエッジ応力による寿命低下を防ぐため、ある程度の取付け誤差が生じても大きなエッジ応力が発生しないように、軌道面1または3或いは円錐ころの外周面にクラウニングを形成するか、或いは軸受内部設計(ころの太さ、長さ、本数)によってエッジ応力を抑制している。大きなクラウニングほどエッジ応力の抑制に効果的であるが、クラウニングが増大(曲率半径の減少)すると円錐ころと軌道面との接触面積が減少して最大面圧が増大するので、中庸的な値が選択されている。従来のクラウニングの大きさの設計は、エッジ応力の上限値をまず最初に定め、所定の計算式で当該上限値から逆算する方法でクラウニングの大きさを決定しているといえる。
一方、自動車トランスミッションには、近年、ミッションのAT化、CVT化、低燃費化等のため、低粘度の油が使われる傾向にあるが、低粘度オイルが使用される環境化では、(1)油温度が高い(2)油の流量が少ない(3)予圧抜けが発生する等の悪条件が重なると、高面圧の内輪軌道面での潤滑不良(油膜切れ)に起因した非常に短寿命の表面起点剥離が生じることがある。
なお、図2の試験の条件は、軸受A〜Eのサイズ:φ45×φ81×16、材質:浸炭鋼、回転数:2500rpm.、負荷荷重:19.1kNである。
なお、図2と図3の試験で使用した潤滑条件は、油種:VG1.5グレード、油温:約90℃(自然昇温)、油量:軸芯レベルである。
