Abstract
【解決手段】エステル系潤滑剤、特に、4サイクルエンジンに適するエステル系潤滑剤が、少なくとも8個の炭素原子を有する飽和、枝分かれ鎖脂肪族一価アルコールと少なくとも10個の炭素原子を有する飽和、枝分かれ鎖脂肪族モノカルボン酸との少なくとも1種のエステルを含んで成る。これらのエステルは、(40℃で)最大で35cStの動粘度、少なくとも100の非極性指数、最大で10%のNoack蒸発損失、及び−30℃より低い流動点を有する。

Description
(a) 40℃で最大35 cStの動粘度、
(b) 少なくとも100の非極性指数(NPI)
NPI=(炭素原子の総数×分子量)/(カルボキシレート基の数×100)、
(c) 最大で10%の(欧州標準CEC L−40−T−82に従って測定された)Noackに従う蒸発損失、及び
(d) −30℃より低い流動点、
を有する潤滑剤に関する。
本発明によるエステル潤滑剤は、少なくとも100、好ましくは少なくとも125の非極性指数(non-polarity index)(NPI;ジー・バン・デル・ワール(G.van der Waal)、J.Synthetic Lubr.1(4),281(1985))。
NPIが高くなればなるほど、潤滑剤の金属表面に対する親和性が低くなる。上記の非極性の式は枝分かれの程度のような潤滑剤の化学的構造に対する考慮が行われていないので概算にすぎないが、一般に本発明のエステルの適性に対しては良好な示唆を与えることが証明された。
Claims (9)
- イソ−トリデカノール、2-オクチルデカノール、2-オクチルドデカノール、2-ヘキシルドデカノール、及びそれらの混合物から成る群から選択されるアルコールと少なくとも10個の炭素原子を有する飽和、枝分かれ鎖脂肪族モノカルボン酸との少なくとも1種のエステルを含んで成るエステル系潤滑剤であって、前記エステルが、
(a) 40℃で最大35 cStの動粘度、
(b) 少なくとも100の非極性指数(NPI)
NPI=(炭素原子の総数×分子量)/(カルボキシレート基の数×100)、
(c) 最大で10%の(欧州標準CEC L−40−T−82に従って測定された)Noackに従う蒸発損失、及び
(d) −30℃より低い流動点、
を有する潤滑剤。 - 前記エステルが40℃で最大30 cStの動粘度を有する、請求項1のエステル系潤滑剤。
- 前記エステルが最大で8%の蒸発損失を有する、請求項1のエステル系潤滑剤。
- 前記エステルが−35℃より低い流動点を有する、請求項1のエステル系潤滑剤
- 飽和、枝分かれ鎖脂肪族モノカルボン酸が、イソ−パルミチン酸、イソ−ステアリン酸、イソ−デカン酸、Neo Acids、CeKanoic acids、及びそれらの混合物から成る群から選択される、請求項1のエステル系潤滑剤。
- 粗製エステルの酸価が、グリシジルエステルとの反応によって減少される、請求項1のエステル系潤滑剤。
- 酸化防止剤、金属失活剤、腐食防止剤、極圧添加剤、粘度指数向上剤、流動点降下剤、洗浄剤、分散剤、摩擦改良剤、消泡剤、及びそれらの混合物から成る群から選択される機能性添加剤の有効量を含む、請求項1のエステル系潤滑剤。
- 潤滑剤全体の0.01乃至10重量%までの機能性添加剤を含む、請求項7のエステル系潤滑剤。
- 2-エチルヘキシルイソステアレートを含む、請求項1のエステル系潤滑剤。
