Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 電源電圧を受ける第1の電源電圧入力部と、増幅される信号とバイアス信 号とを受信する第1の信号入力部と有する第1の増幅段と; 前記電源電圧を受ける第2の電源電圧入力部と、増幅される前記信号と前記バ イアス信号とを受信する第2の信号入力部とを有する第2の増幅段と; 前記第1と第2の電源電圧入力部に結合された電源電圧出力部と、前記第1と 第2の信号入力部にそれぞれ結合された第1と第2のバイアス信号出力部と、及 びモード選択信号を受信するモード選択入力部とを有する制御回路であり、前記 制御回路は前記電源電圧と前記バイアス信号を前記モード選択信号に応じて変化 させる制御回路と; を備える増幅回路。 2. 前記モード選択信号が第1と第2の動作モードを示し、また、前記制御回 路が、前記第1の動作モードにあるときは前記電源電圧を増加させて前記第1の 増幅器をオン状態にバイアスし、また、前記第2の動作モードにあるときは前記 電源電圧を減少させて前記第1と第2の増幅器をオン状態にバイアスする請求項 1に記載の増幅回路。 3. 前記第1の動作モードが高線形性モードであり、前記第2の動作モードが 高効率性モードである請求項2に記載の増幅回路。 4. 前記第1の動作モードがデジタル通信モードであり、前記第2の動作モー ドがアナログ通信モードである請求項3に記載の増幅回路。 5. 前記第1と第2の増幅段がそれぞれ第1と第2の電解効果トランジスタで あり、前記第1と第2の電源電圧入力部がそれぞれ第1と第2 のトランジスタドレインであり、前記第1と第2の信号入力部がそれぞれ第1と 第2のトランジスタゲートである請求項4に記載の増幅回路。 6. 前記第1と第2のトランジスタが一緒に結合される請求項5に記載の増幅 回路。 7. 高線形性動作モードと高効率性動作モードを有する増幅回路において、前 記増幅回路が: 可変アクティブデバイス周辺部と可変電源電圧を有する増幅器と; 前記増幅器に結合され、前記高線形性動作モードにあるときは前記可変アクテ ィブ周辺部を減少させて前記可変電源電圧を増加させ、前記高効率動作モードに あるときは前記可変アクティブデバイス周辺部を増加させて前記可変電源電圧を 減少させる制御回路と; を備える増幅回路。 8. 前記可変アクティブデバイス周辺部が複数のトランジスタ段と備え、また 、前記制御回路が、前記複数のトランジスタ段の内の少なくとも1つをオフにバ イアスすることによって前記可変アクティブデバイス周辺部を減少させ、また、 前記制御回路が前記複数のトランジスタ段の内の少なくとも1つをオンにバイア スすることによって前記可変アクティブ周辺部を増加させる請求項7に記載の増 幅回路。 9. 前記複数のトランジスタ段の各々が前記可変電源電圧に結合されたトラン ジスタ出力部と増幅される信号に結合された入力部を有する請求項8に記載の増 幅回路。 10. 前記制御回路が、前記高効率性動作モード又は前記高線形性動作モード を示すモード選択信号に反応する請求項8に記載の増幅回路。 11. 可変アクティブデバイス周辺部と可変電源電圧を有する増幅回路を操作 する方法において、前記方法が: 高線形性動作モードにあるときは前記可変アクティブデバイス周辺部を減少さ せ、前記可変電源電圧を増加させるステップと; 高効率性動作モードにあるときは前記可変アクティブデバイス周辺部を増加さ せ、前記可変電源電圧を減少させるステップと; を含む方法。 12. 前記可変アクティブデバイス周辺部が複数のトランジスタ段を備え、ま た、前記可変アクティブデバイス周辺部を減少させる前記ステップが、前記複数 のトランジスタ段の内の少なくとも1つをオフにバイアスするステップを含み、 また、前記可変アクティブデバイス周辺部を増加させる前記ステップが前記複数 のトランジスタ段の内の前記少なくとも1つをオンにバイアスするステップを含 む請求項11に記載の方法。 13. 前記可変アクティブデバイス周辺部の待機時電流を減少させるステップ をさらに含む請求項11に記載の方法。 14. 複数の増幅段が自身に印加されるそれぞれのバイアス電圧及び/又は電 源電圧を変化させることによって制御され、また、増幅器を別々の選択可能なモ ードで動作させるように選択されることを特徴とする増幅器。
