998,236. Liquid treating fibrous material. H. FLEISSNER, H. FLEISSNER, and G. FLEISSNER. Jan. 1,1964 [Jan. 14, 1963], No. 63/64. Heading D1L. Fibrous textile material, particularly wool, is cleaned by being passed through a preliminary, dirt extracting bath 21 by eccentric sieve drums 15a and then conveyed to a main grease extracting treatment bath 22, the temperature in the preliminary bath being lower than that of the main bath which is above about 40‹C. As shown the material passes through squeeze rollers 26 between the baths and in the main bath is held between a sieve drum 24 and a conveyer 23, while nozzles (not shown) force jets of liquid therethrough in alternate directions: alternatively liquid is sucked out of or forced into the drum. A further sieve drum may be arranged in bath 22 preceding the drum 24. The conveyer 23 may be arranged to engage both the sieve drums. To force liquid through the material held between drum 24 and conveyer 23 at least one eccentrically mounted drum is arranged to rotate within drum 23. A series of eccentric rotating drums may be arranged within drum 17 and a co-operating series of similar drums outside the drum. Alternatively eccentric drums may be arranged only inside or outside the drum 24.
