Abstract

1,195,916. Treating textiles. VEPA A.G. 13 Sept., 1967 [14 Oct., 1966], No. 41701/67. Heading D1L. Loose fibrous material in continuous form is continuously dyed by feeding the fibres 1 from a hopper 2 onto a vibrated chute 4 on which they form a fleece which passes beneath a spray head 5, for impregnation with the dye, thence through a pair of squeeze rollers 3 onto a conveyor which feeds the fleece onto a further conveyor for passage through a steaming chamber 8 for from 5 to 20 minutes wherein the dye is fixed, the fleece then being led through a plurality of washing and finishing baths 15, and perforated suction-tyre rollers and into a dryer 17 comprises a plurality of perforated drums, preferably connected to a source of suction. Each bath 15 has connected therewith on its downstream side a pair of squeeze rollers 16. The dye collected as a result of the fleece passing between rollers 3 is recirculated to the spray head 5. The invention is applicable to fibrous wool, cellulose or synthetic materials.
