Abstract

1,183,177. Treating textile materials. VEPA A.G. 24 April, 1968 [24 May, 1967], No. 19357/68. Heading D1L. A device for the continuous treatment of textile lengths comprises a) a driven material feed with subsequent material accumulator, b) a unit for the application of preparations e.g. a padder and/or a printing unit, c) an endless belt conveyor which extends into the treatment chamber of a heat-treatment unit and means for overfeeding the textile material onto the said conveyor, d) a heat-treatment unit in which the textile length is carried by a permeable conveyor and is penetrated by the treatment medium in an upward direction so as to remove at least some of the weight' of the material from the conveyor, optionally washing and rinsing units, also a drying unit may be included. In Fig. 1a the material 1 is passed over driven roller 4 to accumulator 5, then through rollers 6 to padder 7, followed by printing unit 8 with pressure rollers 9 to winch 12 with slats 13 to conveyor 14 into steamer 15 having a pre-chamber 18, blower 19 and wire mesh belt 16 on which the material is deposited in folds by free fall and is overfed 15-30 times. Chamber 17 has a water seal with immersion roller 21 and washing device 22 for the wire mesh belt 16.
