Abstract

1297844 Treating textiles VEPA AG 1 April 1970 [8 April 1969 23 Dec 1969] 15365/70 Heading D1L A process for the wet treatment of expanded textile materials, consists of overfeeding the material into a compression channel formed between a sieve drum and a liquid-permeable trough in a liquor container, the material being guided through the container by the oscillating sieve drum, and mechanically treated with varying pressure between the sieve drum and the trough, while treatment liquor passes through it, and removing the plait-like package at the end of the compression channel. Before entering the treatment apparatus the material passes through a wetting bath 2 squeeze rollers 5 and is guided onto a chute 6, where it is overfed to form a package of plaits 7, and led into the compression channel 8. The compression channel 8 is formed by a liquid-permeable trough 9 and sieve drum 10, the drum being supported in eccentric discs (11 Fig. 2 not shown), and performs an oscillating movement thus subjecting the material to compression. At the end of the channel, the deflection of feeling unit 12 actuates a potentiometer which controls the next pair of squeeze rollers 5 which serve to remove the overfeeding, which is later renewed in the following drum. The sieve drums in the device can be designed as suction drums or outflow drums.
