Abstract

1278843 Heat treating apparatus ICHIKIN KOGYOSHA KK 11 March 1970 [13 March 1969] 11778/70 Heading D1L Apparatus for heat treating a fabric, as shown, wherein a fabric a to be treated is fed into the heating chamber 1, and travels through the chamber by feed rollers 2. In the chamber the fabric hangs down to form loops b between adjacent rollers, and is treated with steam projected onto the fabric from projectors 12 inside the loop and 18 below the loop. During treatment the loop is lifted by the projecting stream, so that the fabric a is substantially free from tension, and the portion of the fabric in contact with the roller, is held in close contact with the perforated surface by a vacuum created from inside the roller. The apparatus is suitable for continuous heat treatments such as, steam baking, thermosol colouring, and heat drying.
