Abstract
1472617 Steaming textiles ETABS CALLEBAUT-DE BLICQUY SA 9 Oct 1974 [9 Oct 1973] 43724/74 Heading D1L In the steaming of textiles e.g. yarns, cables or fabric, by conveyance through steam chamber 4, the textile 1 is projected onto the conveyor belt 17 from air nozzles 13 directed towards the chamber inlet 8 to form a gas shield thereat, a further set of nozzles 30 blowing air at the chamber outlet 9 to form a second gas shield thereat so as to maintain steaming conditions within the chamber. Elevated temperature conditions within the chamber are maintained by heated plates 22, 23, 24 and 31 adjacent the inlet and outlet, hot air formed being removed by suction hoods 25 and 32. The projecting nozzles 13 are transversely reciprocated to lay the textile down in a zig-zag manner [see Fig. 2 (not shown)].
