Abstract

1,214,263. Washing textile material. VEPA A.G. 20 March, 1969 [20 March, 1968; 25 Feb., 1969], No. 14692/69. Heading D1L. After the washing of textile material by passage under a suction or gravity flow sieve drum at least partially immersed in a treatment liquor, optionally with overfeeding, the material is passed over a suction sieve drum having at least one suction slit for removal of the treatment liquor. The suction sieve drum may have :a jacket with openings forming at least 50% of the total surface. A fine meshed fabric may be stretched over the jacket. The operations of washing and liquor removed may be repeated. Non-woven and knitted material, tow and top may be treated. As shown, material passes round gravity-flow sieve drum 5 and suction drum 8 having suction slits 9, the operation then being repeated.
