Abstract

1323866 Textile treating apparatus VEPA AG 20 April 1971 [4 May 1970 19 March 1971] 10102/71 Heading D1L Textile webs are treated with liquid, whilst being subjected to no tension, by passage around a perforated drum 3 which is at least partially immersed in the processing liquor. The textile web is folded, perpendicular to the direction of movement, into pleats in which form it is conveyed on the surface of drum 3 through the treatment liquor which is drawn through the web into the interior of the drum. The pleating is caused by beating device 8 which acts upon the free length of textile web below feed roller 6. Feed roller 6, drum 3 and withdraw roller 9 have the same peripheral velocity. Dancing roller 12, which rises and falls according to the tension in the web, may be used. A "nose" 10 may be provided between the drum 3 and the withdrawal roller 9 in order to prevent the material lapping around any of the succeeding rollers.
