Abstract

1,004,909. Textile treating apparatus. FLIESSNER Ltd. Dec. 17, 1962 [Dec. 15, 1961], No. 47576/62. Heading D1L. [Also in Division F4] In treating e.g. steaming fixing and/or drying fabric webs on screening drums subject to suctiondraught, the fabric is conveyed around each drum, folded normal to the fabric supporting surface thereof. As shown material 3 is fed into the apparatus by rollers 1, is fed round perforated drums 2 and 4 and out via rollers 5. The speed ratio between rollers 1 and drum 2 is such that the material is folded on drum 2 and the speed ratio between drums 2 and 4 is such that the material is slowed down on drum 4. The speed of rollers 5 is less than that of rollers 1 to allow for shrinkage of the material. In a second embodiment the material is folded on to a conveyer belt prior to feeding into the apparatus. Fans are provided for producing suction inside the drums for drawing treating medium through the material. There may be several fans associated with each drum or one variable fan may be used.
