Abstract

1281351 Drying webs FELDMœHLE ANLAGEN-UND PRODUKTIONS GmbH 15 July 1969 [15 July 1968] 35576/69 Heading F4G [Also in Division D2] Paper or banded fibre fabric formed on a paper-making machine, having a low strength as the welt product such as not to permit of it being dried on drying rollers or by suspension drying, is passed immediately from the wet section to a moving gas-permeable endless band, and thereon dried by infra-red radiation either completely or sufficiently to permit conventional drying. Air may be passed over the web during irradiation, on one or both sides of the band, and the air flow is preferably in the longitudinal direction of the band. The band may be a coarse wire-cloth, and an infra-red radiator may be positioned on either side of the wire.
