Abstract

1472428 Drying sheet material W KRUCKELS 16 July 1974 [18 July 1973] 31491/74 Heading F4G A method of treating sheet material comprising a multiplicity of longitudinal elements consists of treating the material in a treatment vat, dividing the elements of the sheet into separate sections, predrying each section equally in a respective drying station having at least one drying cylinder, reconstituting the actions into the sheet and finish drying the material. In the apparatus shown the warp is passed through a treatment vat 3 then divided and passed round pairs of drying cylinders 6a, 6b before being recombined and passed round drying cylinders 6c in a drying station 5. The warp may be further subdivided by rods (9), Fig. 2 (not shown), after the predrying. The tension of the warp may be controlled by rollers 7 and 8.
