Apparatus for wet treating fibrous material, e.g. loose wool fibres 3 comprises at least one perforated eccentrically mounted drum 1 which dips into the treatment bath during rotation and an endless conveyer band 2 lying below the drum or drums. As shown the wool 3 is conveyed through the bath partly by the band 2 and partly by the drums 1 and is lifted therefore by band 2 to be fed to squeeze rollers 5. The band 2 may be perforated and may have ribs thereon; it may be arranged to be driven with a vertical shake. Spray nozzles are preferably disposed beneath the band 2. The speed of band 2 and the peripheral speed of the drums 1 at their lowest point may be arranged to be different. The drums may be arranged to contact the conveyer in their rotation.
