Abstract

998,070. Hinges; clips. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. July 16, 1963, No. 28175/63. Headings E2B and E2F. A hinge comprises a resilient clip 10 having a cylindrical bearing portion 12 adapted to clip on a pin 18 and a U-shaped portion 11 adapted to grip a plate 31 for attachment to a part to be hinged, the other hinged part being attached to the pin 18. The cylindrical bearing portion 12 has a centre portion 15 bent inwardly to form a ridge 16 and has flared ends 13, 14. The U-shaped portion of the clip has a web 19, a central limb 20 and opposed side legs 21A, 21B. The central limb 20 has a detent 22 engaging an aperture 29 in the plate 31 and the side legs 21A, 21B have at their outer edges prongs 23A, 23B. The plate 31 has a lug 28 lying between the legs 21A, 21B abutting the web 19 of the clip. The opening of the bearing portion 12 may be directed in either direction at right angles to the plane of the U-shaped portion 11.
