Abstract

1,145,467. Clips. FIRTH CLEVELAND FASTENINGS Ltd. 17 Aug., 1967 [19 Aug., 1966], No. 38030/67. Heading E2B. A fastener for pivotally connecting a rod 15 to an apertured member 17 comprises a sheet metal strip 1 bent to provide two arms 3, 4 shaped at their ends to engage in the aperture, the strip having a rod-receiving opening 2 so that when the fastener is secured to the member 17, the rod 15 may be inserted through the opening 2 in the strip 1 and through the aperture 18 in the member 17. As shown the ends 5, 6 of the strip are bent outwardly to engage the underside of the bar 17. In other arrangements Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown) the opening 2 in the strip is modified to accommodate a straight rod and an angled rod respectively.
