A cover-plate 7 for a channel-shaped conduit 4 may be fastened to a detachable bridgepiece 1 extending across the open side of the conduit so that its ends engage both sides of inturned flanges 2 or other projections. The bridge-piece has tongues 3 which are bent to engage under the flanges and may have a turn-button 5 to engage a slot 6 in the coverplate.
