Abstract
227,099. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Knoderer, H. G.). Dec. 31, 1923, [Convention date]. Junction boxes. - An outlet box has adjustable means of attachment to a wall and the means for securing an electric device in the box simultaneously fixes the box in relation to its attachment means. The box 1 has tapped holes 4 in lugs 2 in alignment with tapped holes 7 in brackets 5. The brackets are adapted to be secured by screws through lugs 6 to the framing of the wall. Lugs 9 stamped from the box sides engage slots 8 in the brackets so that the box may slide frictionally only at right angles to the face of the wall. Screws 19 are passed through lateral slots in a bridge piece 12 carrying the switch or other fitting and, when the box has been adjusted, are engaged with the tapped holes in lugs 2 and brackets 5 to fix the switch and box in position.
