Abstract

904,087. Conduit fittings. HUSLER, N. W. Jan. 23, 1961 [Oct. 23, 1959], No. 35913/59. Class 36. An elbow fitting for trunking of rectangular box formation has front and rear cover-plates 10, 11 and wall sections 12, 13, these components being held in their assembled position by screws passing through suitably drilled holes and engaging clip nuts 14 fitted on the various components, the nuts for the rear coverplate 11 being so placed that its screws may be engaged with or disengaged from their nuts from within the assembled fitting after removal of the front cover-plate. The cover-plates 10, 11 are recessed along their sides 101, 111 to receive the side flanges of the wall sections and are further recessed at 141 to accept the nuts clipped to the components, thus allowing flush fitting of the covers. Strips 16 welded to the components limit travel of the attached trunking into the elbow. In an alternative form of the elbow, Fig. 5 (not shown), the wall section 12 is replaced by two parts meeting at the corner of the elbow, these parts being separately removable. Nuts non-rotatably held in cages and nuts otherwise fixed to the components may be used as alternatives to clip nuts, and the method of assembly of the elbow may be applied to junction fittings of arcuate, T, or cruciform formation.
