Abstract

Textile materials e.g. a fibre blend, sliver, batt, card web, top, roving, spun yarn or a "non-woven" fabric, comprises "hard" staple fibres mixed with synthetic, elastomeric staple fibres of denier not exceeding 30 and in proportions above 95% and below 5% respectively, the individual fibres in the mixture being relatively movable. Fabric may be woven entirely from the mixed fibre yarn or it may include yarns composed entirely of hard fibres. The definitions, materials, processes, finishing treatments and tests are set out in the parent Specification. In one method of fibre blending, a sliver sandwich is fed into a Pacific Converter. Specifications 692,026, 711,279 and 731,071 also are referred to.
