930,298. Knitting-machines. SCHUBERT & SALZER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. Nov. 4, 1960 [Feb. 4, 1960], No. 37943/60. Class 74 (2). Yarn feeding mechanism for a circular machine comprises mechanism which operates one II of a number of yarn guides at a feeding station to project its yarn FII, extending from a clamp 7 outside the needle circle, across the needle circle so that the yarn engages around a resiliently pivoted finger 2. As the yarn guide is withdrawn it lays the yarn across the needle circle in the path of the oncoming raised needles which when they engage it proceed to knit it, Fig. 3. Simultaneously the action of the needles causes a pull to be exerted on the yarn around the finger 2 causing the finger to pivot to release the yarn whereafter it is pulled from its clamp 7. The end of an outgoing yarn is engaged by a heated element 9 to sever it after the clamp 7 has pivoted to engage and clamp the yarn running from the guide. Specification 872,375 is referred to.
