919,916. Automatic lathes; drilling attachments. BECHLER, A. Feb. 8, 1961 [Feb. 12, 1960], No. 4677/61. Class 83 (3). An automatic lathe is provided with a work transfer arm 8, Fig. 1, which is cam-controlled for pivotal and axial movements. A workplace 6 is severed from a bar 7 and the reverse side is operated on when the transfer arm moves the workpiece successively to rotary tools 21, 20, which may be a drill and a tap. The tools are mounted in a drum 17, Fig. 2, carried by a ring 14 which is adjustably mounted in a bracket 11. This adjustment enables the distance between the centre of the drum and that of the pivot to be varied. Additionally, the drum 17 is adjustable about its own centre by means of pointed grub screws 27, 28.
