Abstract

913,017. Boring-heads. BREUNING, R. Feb. 26, 1960 [April 30, 1959], No. 6909/60. Class 83 (3). A boring -head 1 comprises a tool-holder 16 radially adjustable of the head by a spring- urged sleeve 5 having a bore 7 in which a shank 16a on the tool-holder is located, the sleeve being adjusted transversely of the boring head axis by a graduated screw 14 which engages an extension 9 on the sleeve 5. The sleeve 5 slides in a bore of a liner 4, fixed in the head, and is secured in the adjusted position by a nut 6 co-operating with a split collar on the end of the liner. The shank 16a passes through a slot 15 in the liner 4 and in the head 1, to allow radial adjustment of the holder 16, and the latter may have bores 18, 18a, into which the tool 3 may be selectively located. Toolholder 16 may be discarded and tool 3 located directly in bore 7.
