Abstract

1,252,613. Cutting tools. E. REBMANN. 29 Aug., 1969 [5 Sept., 1968], No. 43120/69. Heading B3T. A tool holding assembly comprises a body portion 1 having a detachable tool holder 2 with a shank 3 extending therefrom and which is clampable in a bore 4 in the body portion 1. A cutting tool of the detachable insert type is secured in the tool holder and is locatable angularly with respect to the body 1 by rotation with the holder and shank 3 in the bore 4. The tool holder is also adjustable axially in relation to the shank 3 by a screwed rod 12 which extends through the tool holder and engages the end of the body 1 to permit height adjustment of the cutting tool 7 relative to the body 1. The cutting tool 7 is clamped in the holder 2 by a bolt 10 and is supported on a seating 14 and has a chip breaker 8. In an alternative embodiment the bore and shank portion of t he holder are splined to permit selective angularly location of the holder and the height adjustment is effected by screw coaxial on to the shank 3 and extends from the bottom thereof to abut a stop member which is secured to the underside of the body portion.
