Abstract

1,272,654. Mounting tools. TAREX S.A. 3 Oct., 1969 [5 Oct., 1968], No. 48742/69. Heading B3T. Apparatus for mounting a tool holder 4 on a tool support such as a turret 1 on a lathe comprises a member 5 of parallelepipedal form and having two mounting faces 8 and 9, the face 8 being concave and is spaced from and offset to the face 9. The concave face 8 is engageable with the outer surface 10 of the turret and the member is securable thereon by a bolt 11 and nut 13, the bolt extending through a sleeve 12 in a bore in the turret. The tool holder 4 is secured to the face 9, which is serrated and which engages with serrations on the base of the tool holder, the holder being clamped to the member 5 by a tee bolt 18 which is secured in the member by a tapered screw 21 which ensures clamping engagement between the serrated portions of the mounting and the holder. A screw member 23 with a graduated head 23a is attached to the mounting and engages the tool holder whereby the holder may be adjusted on the serrations prior to clamping with the tee bolt. The mounting permits the orientation of the tool holder in alternative positions.
