Abstract

1313289 Portable pipe-threading and reaming machine OGURA CHUCK SEISAKUSHO CO Ltd 15 Nov 1971 [20 Nov 1970(6)] 52931/71 Headings B3C and B3N A portable pipe threading machine comprises a chucking and rotating mechanism 11 for work pipes, a movable base 22 extending parallel to the rotating axis of the mechanism, working units 23, 24, 25 mounted on said base for cutting, threading and reaming respectively, the working axis of each unit being selectively aligned with said rotating axis manual means 51 for shifting the base, a circulation system for lubricant supplied to the working section and end grip means 57 for carrying the machine. The cutting unit is of a roll type and the reaming unit has to be rotated through 180 degees about its axis to be in an operative position. The threading unit includes a cutter body 32 and a movable disc 33 which co-operates with the body to adjustably support four cutters 34 A plastics cover 54 surrounds a lubricant reservoir 58 and a cuttings-fitter 59. A sub-chuck 16 has a split resilient ring 17 limiting radial movement of its pawl.
