Class 82(1) [Also in Group XXII] A refractory plug for closing the outlet of a tundish or other molten metal container comprises a number of refractory sleeves 2 and an end closure piece 3 into which is screwed a metal tube 4, 5. The space 7 between the tube 4 and the sleeves 2 is filled with powdered insulation material such as alumina. A further tube 8 is fitted inside the tube 4 and coolant fluid is supplied at 13 and discharged at 11.
