Abstract

924,747. Foundry ladles. ROSS-TACONY CRUCIBLE CO. Jan. 18, 1962 [July 21, 1961], No. 1952/62. Class 82. A ladle stopper 10 has a central recess 12 into which the flanged stopper rod 15 projects, the recess having an annular groove 14. A pair of arcuate locking sections 17, 18 are placed within the recess and rest on the stopper rod flange 16, the locking sections having protuberances 23, 24. When bars 30 are pushed down between the sections 17, 18 the protuberances 23, 24 are forced outwards into the groove 14 and lock the stopper on to the rod. Sleeves carried by the rod rest on flanges 20 on the locking sections and not on the stopper.
