Abstract
1,038,048. Foundry ladles. JOSEPH DIXON CRUCIBLE CO. Feb. 18, 1964, No. 6811/64. Heading F4B. A ladle nozzle stopper 10 has a central recess 12 into which a flanged stopper rod 20 projects, the recess having an annular groove 14. A pair of arcuate locking members 22, 23, having inclined ends 25, 26 and protuberances 27, are placed within the recess and rest on the stopper rod flange 21. When a pair of flanged semicylindrical expansion sections 30, 31 are pushed down, downwardly-dependant tapered portions 32 thereon enter between the locking members and force the protuberance outwards into the groove thereby locking the stopper to the rod. A stopper sleeve 41 carried by the rod rests on upper flanges 40 of the expansion sections.
