Abstract

1,106,964. Ingot moulds. ARBED ACIERIES REUNIES DE BURBACH - EICHDUDELANGE S.A. 1 April, 1965 [2 April, 1964], No. 13947/65. Heading B3F. An ingot mould comprises a body part and a cover member 1 having an aperture 3 which is provided with a stopper 4. The aperture permits the pouring of molten metal into the mould. The cover is secured to the mould body by bolts 2 and an asbestos seal 9 is provided between the cover and the body to prevent the escape of gases. A free space 6 is provided between the wall 8 of the mould body and the cover and to prevent the entry of molten metal during teeming a thin strip of metal is inserted at the entrance 7 of the space 6, so as to permit easy removal of the cover when the mould is stripped.
