Abstract
838,520. Foundry ladles. FICHERA A.B. July 26, 1956 [Aug. 12, 1955], No. 23106/56. Class 82(1) A ladle tapping device consists of an apertured plate adapted to slide across the bottom of the ladle in the manner of a sluice valve, molten metal being permitted to flow when the aperture in the slide is in correspondence with an aperture in the ladle bottom. As shown, the plate 8 having a frusto-conical hole 9 is arranged to slide by a screw mechanism 15 between plates 6 and 11 having a frusto-conical hole 5 and an oval hole 12 respectively. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the slidable plate 28 carries a nozzle 32 of refractory material.
