Abstract
549,212. Foundry ladles. FOX & CO., Ltd., S., BETHEL, H. A., and BAGNALL, F. T. May 7, 1941, No. 5939. [Class 82 (i)] In a foundry ladle nozzle construction of the kind comprising a primary nozzle 3 and a secondary nozzle 8 of smaller diameter, the secondary nozzle is carried in a detachable box 6 attached to the ladle by an interrupted screw thread or bayonet type of joint, elements 9 on the secondary nozzle engaging elements 5 depending from a plate 4 fixed to the ladle bottom. The lower end of the main nozzle and the upper end of the secondary nozzle may be curved as shown. In a modification, a number of secondary nozzles of successively decreasing diameters are employed, each contained in a detachable box adapted to be secured in the same manner to the one above.
