790,907. Nozzles for casting ladles. THOMAS & BALDWINS, Ltd., R. May 16, 1956 [May 23, 1955], No. 14811/55. Class 82(1) In a casting ladle for the teeming or gravity feeding of molten steel, the delivery end of the nozzle 10 is provided with an additional skirt portion 12 the plane of outer end of which is inclined to the longitudinal axis of the nozzle at an angle # of not less than 15 degrees but less than 90 degrees, e.g. 32 degrees, 45 degrees or 58 degrees. The skirt portion may be formed integrally with the nozzle, or it may be readily mounted on and removed therefrom.
