Abstract

467,181. Foundry ladles. EVANS, W. E. (Dortmund-Hoerder Huttenverein Akt.- Ges.) Dec. 11, 1935,No. 34345. [Class 82 (i)] To avoid splashing of molten metal, the base outlet of a casting ladle is divided by guide surfaces in the upper part and has a discharge passage of uniform cross sectional area below the guide surfaces. The guide surfaces may comprise a cruciform member 5, Fig. 3, insertable in the outlet 2 or formed integrally therewith. The member 5 may be of metal so that it melts away under the action of discharging metal.
