Abstract

855,449. Paper and like bags. ROBINSON Ltd., E. S. & A. Oct. 17, 1958 [Oct. 18, 1957], No. 32624/57. Class 94(2). A bag 2 made of paper, polythene, cellulosic film or other material of single or laminated form, is provided with one or more holes 3 and a separate closure member 5 coated on both inside sides with latex or other pressure sealing adhesive which is applied to the bag over the holes so that the front and back portions of the closure adhere together through the holes. An opening 6 may be provided to form a carrying handle. In a modification the closure member may be part of a stiffener 8 which has one part inside the bag or as shown in Fig. 3, outside the bag. The stiffener may have an upturned portion 9 secured through a lower hole 3 in the bag on to an adhesive surface on the front side of the stiffener 8. The stiffener may also be used to secure a number of bags together through aligned holes 3.
