Abstract

1326945 Hermetically sealed bags SEISAN NIPPONSHA KK 13 Aug 1970 [14 Aug 1969] 39085/70 Heading B8K [Also in Division E2] A hermetically sealed pouch or wallet 1 is made of air impervious laminated material and has an airtight sealing member 2 integral with or bonded to the inner laminate layer 4 at the open end of the pouch. The sealing member 2 comprises a male member 2a and a female member 2b the depth K of member 2b being longer than the length J of member 2a to facilitate engagement. The surfaces B, B<SP>1</SP> of member 2a and E, E<SP>1</SP> of member 2b are urged together by the resilience of member 2b since the maximum widths D and F of members 2a and 2b are equal. The width C of the rib portion A of member 2a is larger than the width G of the opening of member 2b to enhance air tightness. To facilitate tearing opening of the pouch on a line 9, two opposed pairs of ribs 5, 5<SP>1</SP> are provided. The pouch may be formed of a laminate of Cellophane (Registered Trade Mark) or polyethylene with aluminium foil or paper sheet. The sealing member 2 may be made of polyethylene.
