Abstract
832,372. Cartons. MENSING, H., and KOHRIG, G. Feb. 28, 1957 [March 1, 1956; Oct. 17, 1956; Feb. 5, 1957], No. 6671/57. Classes 18 and 94(1). A folding carton with a sheet or foil lining has at its ends closure flaps 7, 9 and 7a, 9a on opposite side walls 15, 17, the lining overlapping and being secured to the flaps at 19 and 21, 19a and 21a, so that when the flaps are bent over they bring opposed inner surfaces of the lining together to form a sealable strip capable of being folded over flat on to the flaps 7, 7a. Lining edges 22, 23 overlapping carton side walls 14 and 17 are stuck together, while edges 4, 5 of the carton can be secured together by adhesive tape; after the inner faces of the lining 19 and 21 or 19a and 21a have been sealed and bent over on to the flap 7 or 7a, flaps 6, 8 or 6a, 8a can also be bent over and fastened by adhesive tape to the side walls 15, 17. In another embodiment, Figs. 4-7 (not shown), the lining is secured to the other pair of flaps over a triangular area, and a triangle-shaped cut in one flap serves as an outlet. In a further embodiment, Figs. 8-10 (not shown), the lining is secured only to the second pair of flaps over a triangular area, each of the narrower side walls being formed in two parts ; a plastic tube may be welded into the sealing seam of the lining.
