Abstract

1,039,028. Bags. WEST VIRGINIA PULP & PAPER CO. Aug. 7, 1963 [Aug. 13, 1962], No. 31133/63. Heading B8K. A gusseted, multiply bag is formed from a blank cut from a web 13 of plies of material which web is cut so that front and rear walls 16, 22 and panels 18, 20 of gusseted side walls are displaced longitudinally relative to each other to provide rectangular bag end closure areas 27-29 which areas are folded over and are attached, as by gluing, to the front or rear wall. In the embodiment of Fig. 1 three plies are transversely displaced relative to each other before being adhered together at 15 to form the web 13. The blank is folded and joined along edges 14 to form a tubular blank, after which glue is applied to the areas 27- 29, the blank is folded about line a-a and sealing of the lower bag end is effected. The upper end of the bag is sealed in a similar manner.
