Abstract
1,255,677. Block-bottom bags. NATRO CELLULOSA S.p.A. INDUSTRIA IMBALLAGI CARTA. 16 July, 1969 [18 July, 1968; 5 Feb., 1969], No. 35922/69. Heading B8K. In a block bottomed valve bag, the end and corner not fitted with the valve has corner flaps 2, Fig. 7, folded about an oblique line C-C when centre flaps 3 are folded in. The bag may be lined forming two layers of flaps 3 on each side to be folded in. A closing strip 105 (Fig. 12) is secured over the folded flaps and may contain an opening cord 11<SP>1</SP>. In the construction shown in Fig. 7 the flaps 3 do not meet at the centre line of the bag bottom whereas in the construction shown in Fig. 12 the flaps do meet on the centre line. In the Fig. 12 construction, a slit (10, Figs. 9, 10) is made in the edge of the bag enabling corner flaps 102 to have extensions 102<SP>1</SP> which facilitate the application of further spots of adhesive to provide a more leak proof base.
