Abstract

1,151,006. Wrappers with tear-lines. W. R. CALDWELL. 19 Sept., 1967 [19 Sept., 1966; 22 March, 1967], No. 42625/67. Heading B8C. [Also in Division B6] After flaps 38, 38, 54 on the blank illustrated have been folded about an article on the base 14 the remaining flap 80 can be folded so that adhesive areas 96, 98 engage the remaining flaps and secure the package; the package is subsequently opened by a pull tab 76 connected to a tear portion 74 extending across the width of one of the flaps 54, 80. A window is provided at 32. In an alternative construction all four flaps are rectangular, and the tear-lines (Fig. 4, not shown) extend from a tab in the middle of the outer edge of the flap 80 to the outer ends of the fold line 28 of this flap. The adhesive is preferably pressure-sensitive. The hinge lines 20, 22, 28, 30 may be double to provide some thickness to the envelope.
