947,428. Cartons. EUREKA SPECIALITY PRINTING CO. Oct. 14, 1961, No. 36959/61. Heading B8P. [Also in Division A4] A box for housing a roll of tape comprises a cardboard blank (Fig. 1) folded along lines 15, 16, 17, 18 to form a rectangular tube having side panels 10, 11, 12, 13 and bottom closure flaps 22, 23, 24 folded up in the usual way. The roll is inserted with an end S of the tape still projecting from the box and is held in place by inturned tabs 44, 45. Flap 41 is folded down, followed by flap 31 and after the end S of the tape has been folded over on to the flap 31, flap 36 is folded down, a tab 39 on this flap entering a slot 42. In a modified form of box the seamed edge of the tube is along the line 18 instead of at 17, the overlap tab 14 being attached to the panel 13. The edge 30 may be sharply folded over to provide a tearing edge for the tape.
