865,476. Packages. HERMORION Ltd. Jan. 21, 1959 [Jan. 31, 1958], No. 2243/59. Class 94(1). A lined package has a slit or notch 6 in one of the end closure seals to assist in tearing off a corner. The slit may be formed by the sealing jaws having a cutting portion to slit the seals, preferably of two adjacent packages simultaneously. The jaws may also spread apart the margins of the slit or displace material on one side of the slit relative to that on the other. Specification 865,475 is referred to.
